Randy Buchanan,
Yea! Prof. Buchanan will
coordinate Electronics Engineering Technology and play essential
roles in both the EET and CET programs. He will initially focus on
the control arena and on preparations for the next accreditation
visit. He comes to us with fresh ideas but has already said he is
going to look before he leaps (or was that before he shoots). Prof.
Buchanan is a strong team player and a great addition to our
faculty. |

Dan
Returns Favor Dan Kohn joins the Computer and
Electronic Engineering Technology faculty after receiving his Master
of Science degree in Engineering Technology. Mr. Kohn liked what he
was doing for us as a graduate student and decided to turn it into a
full time occupation. Of course we had to beg a little, to ask to be
favored. Actually, he loves computers, especially small ones. If
your application uses a computer that could fit into a coffee can,
even a matchbox, Mr. Kohn wants to talk to you. Needless to say
all the robot activity around here is perfect for him. Drop by, say
hi.

Eric Loves a Challenge
 Eric
Naguin joins the electronic programs' faculty. We convinced him
he could work full time and take graduate courses on the side. He
either thought that was feasible or else just couldn't wait to join
the profession. See Mr. Naguin about Altera, networking,
or digital design issues. He particularly likes our robot activities
and automatons in general. Mr. Naguin takes over Dr. Ali's office
but can be found all over. He wants to help with your
problems. |

Todd Adams Has Plans Mr. Adams directs the
senior projects and robot activities and is making special plans
just for you. He has some really exciting changes and improvements
in the works. When not racing sail boats he concentrates on making
your design experience more meaningful. These activities have
improved each year Mr. Adams has been in charge and we all look
forward to upcoming events.

Brett Chessher Is Back. Super!
 We
are happy to have Brett back as lab assistant to the world. We know
we overwork him but we just can't stop ourselves. He is here for you
but let us all remember that he has studies of his own.. |

Dr. Houston Helps Out !! Dr.
Houston is extremely busy as Associate Director and head of the
Software Engineering Technology program. However he often helps when
we need it by teaching a course or two. With Dr. Ali gone he will
also be serving as Coordinator for Computer Engineering Technology.

It's me, Gary
Johnsey. Or ProJo
to many of you. I am very happy to share these great times with you.
We are in a good position to obtain the leading edge in technology.
Think carefully about the courses you take and the projects you do.
To become more experienced, become more involved. See me about your
computer based projects, embedded or desktop. I am currently working
with Linux servers and web interactive data collection. See me
anytime but speak to me often and make my day.

 (Yes, I put the
tie on just for the picture.) |

Loc Trang, The Graduate What
would we do without graduate students? Probably cry a lot. Loc is a
recent EET graduate with interests in radio systems and networking.
This is a natural combination, especially with the digital nature of
information transfer. Loc will initially be looking at microwave
amplifiers. He will be helping in the labs so look for him.

And On The Coast But Not
Coasting

Paul Wilder Does It
All If it
involves Software, Computer, or Electronic Engineering Technology on
the Gulf Coast then Professor Wilder is your man. He coordinates the
technology effort there and teaches the upper level courses. Do you
just need to finish up that senior project in order to graduate?
Don't forget Professor Wilder and his location. He and his students
have had some very impressive projects. Ask him for ideas. |
